SHANTELLE SIMONE LANDRY

Performer. Writer.

Shantelle has performed, studied and taught clown across Canada for nearly a decade. Her one-woman clown show In And Out Of The Dark premiered at the Victoria Fringe Festival. Other clown performances include both versions of Teatro Magnetico's pandemonium machine (Theatre Passe Muraille), Michael Kennard's Puzzle Me Red (Berkeley Street Theatre), Clown Chowder (Bad Dog Theatre, Toronto Festival of Clowns) and the Toronto Busker Festival as part of Privy People

A native Edmontonian, Shantelle first discovered the world of clown while completing a B.F.A. in Acting at the University of Alberta. Her studies with Jan Henderson inspired her to travel across the country to seek more tutelage under Canadian clown master John Turner, with whom she studied and apprenticed for five years, specializing in Pochinko Clown techniques and completing a Teacher Training Program.  Additional training came from the likes of Michael Kennard (Mump and Smoot), Karen Hines (Pochsy) and Francine Côté. With an endless curiousity,  Shantelle continues to explore clown and all it's manifestations.
